Chairman, Indonesian National Committee of CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems), and Former Director of Transmission and Distribution, PT.PLN
Herman Darnel Ibrahim is Chairman of Indonesian National Committee of CIGRE [International Council of Large Electric Systems], a Freelance Consultant and the Indonesian Power and Energy Analist. He was Board Member of DEN, the Indonesia National Energy Council [2009-2014], former Director Transmission and Distribution of PT PLN [2003-2008] and Director of PT Indonesia Power [1998-2003]. He has actively participated in the initial dicussions and talks on ASEAN Power Grid as he was the representative of PT PLN and acted as Country Coordinator in HAPUA [Head of ASEAN Power Utility and Authority] Forum during 2003-2008. Herman holds First Degree in Electrical Engineering from ITB, Bandung; M.Sc. Degree in Electrical Power System Analyses from the University of Manchester UK; and Doctor Degree in Electrical Power System from ITB Bandung. He was admitted Member of IEE [UK] and Chartered Electrical Engineer in 1991. He is a Certified Senior Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers Indonesia, and a Registered ASEAN Engineer. In the past 2 decades he has been very active in advocating the development and application of Renewable Energy.
