Chairman, ASEAN Power Grid Consultative Committee (APGCC)
Dr. Twarath Sutabutr is currently the Chairman of ASEAN Power Grid Consultative Committee (APGCC) and also the Director- General, Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO) of Ministry of Energy, Thailand. Apart from that, Dr. Twarath is also the Spokeperson for the Ministry of Energy, President of the Department Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) Savings and Credit Cooperative Limited, Advisor to the BoD of Thai Green Building Institutes (TGBI) and Board of Directors for the PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP). He has also held few other different positions for the past years; Deputy Permanent-Secretary of Energy, Ministry of Energy, Deputy Director-General, Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) and Director of Public Communication Division, Nuclear Power Program Development Office (NPPDO), just to name a few. Prior to his excellence achievement, he was awarded with an Outstanding Civil Service Award in which he was the 1st officer to receive such honor from the Ministry of Energy. Besides that, he had also been selected as 1 of 20 “Tough Leaders” by Rockefeller Foundation to discuss about the challenging topic of “Transforming Cities” in Ballagio, Italy and in the following year, Dr. Twarath was selected to participate in “International Leadership Program (ILP)” by Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO), UK Government. Dr. Twarath receives his Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institutes of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA. Earlier on, he receives his Master of Geotechnical Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand and Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
