Takafumi Kadono, Senior Energy Specialist, World Bank. Based in the World Bank’s Singapore Hub for Infrastructure and Urban Development, Taka is responsible for managing power projects in the East Asia and Pacific region. His current portfolio includes hydropower projects in Indonesia and Solomon Islands, and power sector strengthening in Lao PDR including the preparation of the Laos-Vietnam power interconnection project. He is also the energy focal point for a study undertaken by the Bank to prepare a priority project pipeline for ASEAN. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2012, he worked nine years at the Asian Development Bank where he was engaged in various power projects in the Greater Mekong Subregion and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program regions. Taka holds a BSc and ME in civil engineering from the University of Tokyo.
